Located in a timeless neighborhood, this historic Spanish-style home—spanning approximately 2,500 square feet with an additional guest house—was in dire need of rediscovering its roots. Over the years, midcentury modern updates had eclipsed its original character, creating a visual and stylistic dissonance. Our mission? To restore the soul of the home, blending its authentic Spanish essence with a touch of modern global quirk that showcase our clients' love of travel and entertaining.

Preserving the home’s existing dark-stained hardwood floors and original layout was paramount to maintaining its historic charm. However, every room and surface required meticulous attention to reinstate the warmth and craftsmanship that define Spanish architecture. In the kitchen, we blended traditional Spanish elements with modern finishes. The cabinets were repainted in a rich green, complimented by green marble countertops. A new custom Roman clay hood and a Zellige tile backsplash brought a tactile, old-world charm, while terracotta floor tiles reinforced the Spanish character of the home space. A custom built-in bar was added to the dining room, complete with an aged mirrored tile backsplash, vintage artwork, furnishings and textiles, and an unexpected light fixture.

Each bathroom in the home was transformed into a retreat, showcasing statement stone and thoughtfully curated fixtures. In the primary bedroom, a custom bed anchors the space, and above it hangs a diptych by Palm Springs ceramicist Robert Glover—an artistic find from the famed Rose Bowl Flea Market—serving as a testament to the home’s carefully curated mix of old and new. Throughout the home, custom drapery, a fresh yet historically sensitive paint palette, and carefully selected vintage elements seamlessly bridge the past with the present. The exterior was also refreshed with a new paint scheme and landscaping.
